Sebazco, Golik Earn All-Region Awards
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (SMU/United Soccer Coaches) – Courtney Sebazco and Brooke Golik were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Team, the organization announced. Sebazco earned first-team accolades while Golik was a second-team honoree.
The duo led the Mustangs to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2006 with a win against Texas before losing to No. 1 Florida State. SMU finished the season with a 12-5-2 record overall with non-conference wins against Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and a regular-season victory against eventual American Athletic Conference champion USF.
Sebazco finished the season third on the team in goals, four, and points, 12, tallying four assists. She anchored the SMU midfield, while Golik was the captain of the defensive line. The pair guided SMU to 10 shutouts, including a stretch of five straight, tied for second in program history, and a scoreless streak of 552:08, ranking second at SMU. Golik also recorded a pair of assists.
