Men's soccer edged, 1-0, in AAC semifinal

SMU Falls To USF 1-0 In AAC Championship Semifinal
MIAMI (SMU)- No. 2 seed SMU fell to No. 3 USF 1-0 in the American Athletic Conference Championship Semifinal Thursday afternoon at FIU Soccer Stadium.
USF scored the only goal of the match in the 30th minute when Alfred Perez scored on a penalty kick opportunity.
SMU had a penalty kick opportunity in the 70th minute but couldn't convert. The Mustangs outshot the Bulls 18-11 including holding a 14-4 edge in corner kicks.
Bram Kaarsgaren was in goal for the Mustangs. The graduate student recorded six saves on 11 faced shots.
The No. 13 Mustangs (10-5-1) finished the regular season in second place in the AAC. The NCAA Championship selections will be announced on Monday, Nov. 14.
