Wheeler Earns Third Straight AAC Offensive Player Of The Week Honor
IRVING, Texas (SMU)- SMU junior outside hitter Jamison Wheeler was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Preseason AAC Player of the Year selection Wheeler earns the honor for the third consecutive week after turning in another impressive weekend against Rice.
Wheeler posted her first double-double of the weekend on Friday with 15 kills on .350 hitting and 14 digs. The junior outside hitter tallied a season-high 23 kills and 19 digs while tying her career-high in blocks with four in SMU's five set victory on Saturday. Wheeler led the Mustangs in kills for the 11th time this season and sixth straight match while recording double-digit digs for the ninth time.
