SMU Enters At 19 In CSCAA Preseason Rankings

RICHMOND, Va. (CSCAA/SMU) – The SMU men’s swimming & diving program will begin the season ranked No. 19, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced on Thursday.

Last season, the Mustangs were ranked in two editions of the poll, getting as high as 24.

SMU is coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history, claiming the ASUN conference championship and placing 18th during the NCAA Championships, the highest finish since 2008.

During the 2024-25 campaign, the Mustangs are set to compete against five ACC foes in their inaugural season as a member of the conference. The schedule also consists of eight programs in the initial CSCAA rankings.

SMU opens its season on October 11 and 12 when it hosts the SMU Classic in Dallas, featuring Auburn, Louisville, Indiana, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech. All five of these programs are ranked in the CSCAA Top 25, with two being in the top 10.

Thanks for sharing. Exciting Pre-Season recognition.

I didn't realize Jack Hoagland has another year of eligibility as a Graduate Student. His results at last year's NCAA Swimming Championship were amazing, including his 4th place finish in the 400IM and contributions to our relays which made a big impact.

I look forward to the new year. Pony Up.
