Mustangs Earn No. Overall 12 Seed, First-Round Bye In NCAA Championship
DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Men's Soccer earned the No. 12 overall seed and a first-round bye in the NCAA Championship, as announced in the NCAA Selection Show on Monday.
The Mustangs will host the winner of the first-round match between Washington and Seattle U in the second round of the tournament at Washburne Stadium on Nov. 24.
This marks the third consecutive season the Mustangs have earned a national seed and a first-round bye.
The Mustangs are one of seven ACC teams to secure a national seed (No. 2 Pitt, No. 8 Wake Forest, No. 9 Clemson, No. 10 Duke, No. 11 Virginia, No. 16 Stanford). This will be SMU's 36th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
SMU heads into the tournament with a 10-2-6 record after making the quarterfinal round of its first ACC Tournament.
