Sitz Set To Compete In World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships
RIO DE JANEIRO (SMU) – SMU standout freshman diver Luke Sitz is set to represent the United States in the World Aquatics Junior Diving Championships over the next week in Rio De Janeiro.
Each event is streamed live on World Aquatics' YouTube channel, and results can be found on the World Aquatics website.
The 18-year-old is set to compete in three events over the course of the week, seeing action in the 3-meter synchronized along with 1-meter and 3-meter.
Sitz is coming off a highly-successful fall campaign to begin his SMU career, reaching NCAA Zone Standards on both 1-meter and 3-meter. He also was named ACC Diver of the Week for three straight weeks, making him the second diver, first freshman, to ever win three subsequent ACC Diver of the Week awards since its inception in 2012.
The Prosper native's fast collegiate start was foreshadowed earlier this summer when he recorded two top-four finishes at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Diving Trials, the highest finisher below the age of 20 on both 3-meter and 3-meter synchronized.
Sitz's Schedule
3-Meter Synchronized – Sunday November 24 at 10 a.m. (Finals)
