Sparks Earns United Soccer Coaches All-America Honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (United Soccer Coaches/SMU) – SMU senior midfielder Bailey Sparks has been named Second Team All-American, as announced by the United Soccer Coaches for his performance in the 2024 season.
Sparks started in all 21 matches for SMU this season and led the team with nine goals and 10 assists to be named All-American in his second consecutive season. His endeavors have also made him a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy.
SMU advanced to the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Championship for the 14th time in program history and the second time under head coach Kevin Hudson.
In the regular season, Sparks had 12 goal involvements with six goals and six assists, earning him the All-ACC First Team honors.
The Plano, Texas, native concluded his four-year career at SMU with 14 goals and 18 assists through 72 appearances and 63 starts. He made a total of 46 points throughout his career.
Sparks was invited to the 2024 Adidas MLS College Showcase (Dec. 11-14) ahead of the 2025 MLS SuperDraft scheduled for Dec. 20.
