Svajda Awarded Wild Card At 2025 Dallas Open
DALLAS (SMU) — SMU Men's Tennis sophomore Trevor Svajda was awarded a singles wild card for the 2025 Dallas Open as announced on Tuesday. The tournament will be held at the Ford Center at The Star on Feb. 1-9.
"I'm so excited for the opportunity to play in Dallas Open for ATP 500 event. I have fond memories as I trained at The Star in Frisco in juniors and am very familiar with the area," said Svajda.
"I would like to thank Tournament Director Peter Lebedevs and GF Sports for the wild card."
Svajda, who began his ATP competition in 2023, won the ITF M25 singles draw in Calabasas, California last May. He also notably made the quarterfinals of the ATP Challenger Tour in May and a semifinal appearance in the ITF M15 at Rancho Santa Fe, California, in June.
The 2024 American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year advanced in the singles bracket in the NCAA Individual Championship in November, it was his second consecutive NCAA Individual Championship round of 32 appearance.
Svajda is currently ranked No. 647 in the ATP singles rankings.
