SMU sweeps New Mexico at Home
DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Men's Tennis defeated New Mexico 7-0 at the Styslinger / Altec Tennis Complex on Friday.
The Mustangs took the momentum early by winning the doubles point and did not look back by winning all six singles matches.
With the win, the Mustangs improved to 6-2 for the season.
How it Went
SMU's pair of Trevor Svajda and Louis Cloud kicked off the winning trend for the Mustangs by defeating New Mexico's Daniil Kakhniuk and Nicola Recoura (6-3).
Xavier Calvelo and Vikas Deo clinched the doubles point with a 6-1 win over Aditya Balsekar and Averay Tallakson.
The Mustangs kept the flow going as Georgi Georgiev extended the Mustangs' lead with a win over Dario Ciobotaru (6-0, 6-1).
Noah McDonald took the second singles point with a win over Recoura (6-2, 6-3) and Svajda clinched the match for SMU by defeating Aram Noroozian (6-4, 6-0).
