SMU falls to No. 8 Virginia

DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Men's Tennis fell to No. 8 Virginia 4-1 at the Styslinger / Altec Tennis Complex on Sunday.

The Mustangs won the first point of the day in doubles. Trevor Svajda and Louis Cloud earned their third ranked doubles win of the season against No. 22 James Hopper and Keegan Rice.

UVA came back and won four consecutive singles matches to take the match 4-1.

How it went
The Mustangs took the early advantage by winning the doubles point.

Svajda and Cloud defeated the No. 22-ranked pair Hooper and Rice (6-3) before Vikas Deo and Xavier Calvelo clinched the doubles point with a win over Ty Switzer and Jangjun Kim (6-4).

In singles play, UVA's No. 18 Rafael Jodar defeated Svajda (6-3, 6-2) to win the visitors' first point. Mans Dahlberg took the lead for the Cavaliers with a 6-4, 6-4 win on court six over Maks Silagy.

The visitors extended their lead as Roy Horovitz defeated Louis Cloud 6-2, 7-5 on court five, and No. 22 Dylan Dietrich clinched the match for Virginia with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win over Jerry Barton.
