Re: OT: Michigan performance centerThat's nice but, at the end of the day, they're still in the middle of nowhere in freaking Michigan.
Today's athletes have too much choice available to ever want to attend school in what is essentially a frozen wasteland for 6-7 months out of the year. There was a highly ranked receiver recruit that ended up signing with Ole Miss this February. He went on a visit to Michigan a couple weekends before signing day and quietly told the Ole Miss staff that he only went to visit friends and family in Detroit (he grew up there before his family moved to Atlanta) because there was literally no way he was going to go to school somewhere that was that cold for most of the school year.
Re: OT: Michigan performance centerAnn Arbor sucks but Columbus, OH is only ~150 miles away.
Re: OT: Michigan performance centerFor non-revenue sports. Ross also donated the funds to get the b-school naming rights. They have the money to focus on all athletes and not just football and basketball. Rowing?
Re: OT: Michigan performance centerIs Columbus nearby supposed to be a plus?
