SMU Student found dead...an SAE student was found dead in his frat house yesterday.
RIP http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent ... 3afc1.html Bummer for the SMU community. I am not meaning to be a a--hole, but the rumors around campus is that he died of a cocaine overdose. My thoughts and prayers to his family. My apologies if this isn't allowed on the board. Just thought people should know.
EDITOR'S NOTE:
To those who responded to this thread, I apologize -- in moving the thread from the FOOTBALL to GENERAL board, I somehow deleted the responses. There was nothing inappropriate, merely comments from several PonyFans expressing their sympathies to the student's family. We also extend our sympathies to the family, and regret the inadvertent deletion of the earlier expressions of compassion.
Stiles' death is still under investigation by the Dallas County Medical Examiner.
Sympathies to his family, friends and fraternity brothers.
SAE had the same rep in my day. Funny how that stuff lingers on even after the membership turns over.
Just my two cents.
Tragedy has struck both of my schools this weekend. A Zeta Tau Alpha sorority member at Sam Houston State was shot and killed in a murder-suicide last night. She was a cheerleader at SHSU, too. The guy who killed her and then killed himself was a former boyfriend whom she had broken up with and wouldn't leave her alone.
The Daily Campus version of the story is longer, more quotes from people invovled, for those who are interested.
Nice. What happened to the good old days where your girlfriend would dump you and you'd go out and -BLEEP- three of her friends to get even? The world is going to hell in a handbasket.
The Daily Campus has a follow up story about the Stiles death
Does someone have a link or can you post a summary? I'm curious as to what happened. It's always sad to hear of these things. I feel for his friends and family.

Small update,
My son was recently an SAE at SMU and went to the Naperville funeral for the student. Apparently 40 Brothers attended and then went to the SAE Headquarters in Evanston afterwards. A Band of Brothers is a good thing at this time. Also, the full blood test results are expected in mid-January. ![]() Pony Up
DMN says Mix of cocaine, alcohol and synthetic opiate was lethal, officials say was the cause of death.....
