Due to eligibility infractions, SMU will not be competing in this weekend's LSA Final Four. North Texas will take their place.

So who won, and why were we not allowed to play?

We were not allowed to play because an undisclosed player on the team was taking 4 classes, 3 three hour credits and 1 wellness credit (1 hour). He dropped one of the three hour credits, believing that wellness was worth 3 hours instead of one. So the player participated in 4 games, 2 conference, 2 nonconference taking only 10 hours, which is below the required twelve.

The coaches on the team realized the mistake, and reported it to the lacross league officials, and voluntarily forfeited the four games that were played outside of regulations. Because it was recognized as an honest mistake, and reported by SMU, the league waived any future penalty or probation period for the team. They start next season with a clean slate and can participate in any post season activities.
