Laura Bush to address SMU commencementLaura Bush to address SMU commencement
10:28 PM CDT on Monday, April 13, 2009 By LORI STAHL / The Dallas Morning News [email protected] Former first lady Laura Bush will speak to graduates at her alma mater on May 16. Her speech to about 2,000 students is another indicator of the close relationship between the Bushes family and SMU. Also Online Bush, who earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Southern Methodist University in 1968, is a member of SMU’s Board of Trustees and received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1999. That same year, then Gov. George W. Bush donated funds for created the Laura Bush Promenade, a garden outside Fondren Library, to honor his wife’s interest in libraries and literature. His presidential library will also be at SMU. The commencement speech will be the most public role Laura Bush has had in Dallas since moving here in February. The former teacher and librarian established the Texas Book Festival and the first National Book Festival book. She has also been involved in human rights, particularly in Afghanistan, and has promoted women’s health, literacy and education programs.

How far DMN has fallen - they're hiring UNT grads now. Bushes? Wow. That sentence is screwed up in multiple ways!
Re: Laura Bush to address SMU commencement
haha, screwed bushes
Well, at least post-count banter is more interesting than anything that will be said at Commencement.
I have never been above 9,000, I assume, although I can't vouch for how many of my posts have been lost over the years to pulled threads.
I'm graduating this May and probably would have preferred George, but it is still very cool and I am looking forward to it. (Not looking forward to being a real person though. Damn this economy) Anyone have any ideas for a smart, driven advertising major? The job search is murderous right now
