Ads

PonyFans,

We've had some problems recently concerning ads with bad scripts.

During the busy time of the year, we get so much traffic on PonyFans that we burn through the ad budgets of the better/sports fan oriented advertisers who pay a decent amount to advertise on PonyFans. Once all the budgets allocated to PonyFans runs out, the "remnant" space is passed to folks like Google who pay a pittance (often just a few dollars or less per thousand impressions) for the leftover ad space. And some of these ads served by 3rd parties are not good quality and have some coding issues.

The best way for us to fix this permanently is also best for the PonyFans community. And that is to get more, and better quality advertisers. The way to do that is for you to occasionally click on some of the banners ads that appeal to you. Just give them a brief look to see what they offer. As the number of clicks per ad served goes up, we as a community become much more interesting to advertisers, which will attract a much higher caliber advertiser. Doing so will also attract advertisers who cater to your interests rather than some of the random advertisers who're just looking for cheap exposure. If you have any questions about all this, please feel free to send me a PM or email at [email protected]

Thanks for your help in making this a better site and community.
