Re: Burger wars, re-visitedTexas Monthly's burger rankings is a joke. Maybe they should have had a foo foo burger catagory and a greasy burger catagory. I would eat a burger from Whataburger before I would go back to the place in Midland, "Burger, Fries and Cherry Pies. I can not believe "Chris Madrid's in San Antonio was not listed.
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedthese things are all "fluff pieces". they work off a list of advertisers.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedDoes this count?
![]() KFC's new breadless fried chicken sandwich In what appears to be an about face since the introduction of its grilled chicken, KFC is now test marketing a product it calls the KFC Double Down Chicken Sandwich. The $4.99 Double Down starts with two original recipe (fried) chicken filets, which act as the “bread†in this sandwich. Inside, there’s bacon, pepper jack cheese, Swiss cheese and Colonel’s Sauce. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the sandwich is being test marketed in Rhode Island and Omaha, Nebraska. But the Double Down might more accurately be called the Double Bypass. While the sandwich is not to be found on the KFC Web site, the Sentinel estimates it has about 62.4 grams of fat and 858 calories.
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedHere's an entry that didn't make the Burger Wars — Denny's.
Ate there when I had defensive driving, and they fed us, if you can call it that. This might well be the worst burger I've had since high school. Just disgusting. Grey, greasy, completely void of any flavor ... gross. PonyFans.com ... is really the premier place for Mustang talk on the Web.

Re: Burger wars, re-visitedSad...really sad.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedTM #3 Cheeseburger (with green chiles on a jalapeño-cheese bun) Alamo Springs Café, Fredericksburg was actually great-hole in the wall joint outside of Fredericksburg
Re: Burger wars, re-visited40. Cheeseburger, Classics Burgers and “Mooreâ€, Kerrville
I am from kerrville and was shocked to see this on that list! They are good. but surely not in the top 50 in texas?!
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedI see the Perini Ranch Steakhouse in Buffal Gap made Texas Monthly's list for great burgers. Mrs CP and I had a chance to visit that place while visiting son and daughter in law (he's stationed at AFB in Abilene - flying C-130 cargo planes from that base). Would recommend the "family cut" of prime rib for anyone who might visit that "out of the way" spot. Good eats, to be sure!
Re: Burger wars, re-visitedAte lunch Friday at Jake's in Uptown.
Fantastic burger. "Mass genocide is the most exhausting activity one can engage in .... next to soccer."

So what are you saying? The burger is good or the burger is photogenic. ![]() SMU's first president, Robert S.
