Bush Library/LawsuitModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower ![]() I would have a bulldozer and backhoe parked less than a block away inconspicuously doing "maintenance" on campus. And if I were Leon Bennett, the minute I knew the order was enforceable, that bulldozer and backhoe would be placed right in the parking lot on either side of his unit (or units, as the case may be), and I'd shred the buildings adjacent to it as I tacked an eviction notice to his door. And then, possessions or no, I would level his apartment with prejudice and then proceed to the rest of University Gardens. And inside of a month and a day, that place would be as bare as a baby's [deleted]. "Moderation in all things, and especially in Absoluts [vodka]." The Benediction, Doc Breeden, circa 1992
Only after the Court allowed us to evict him would I start tearing stuff down. We still have to succeed in state court before we can evict him and start shredding property. But I agree. I remember there was a road here in Virginia that needed to be built and environmentalists fought against it, but the minute there was no lawsuit pending, the bulldozers razed 15 miles of land overnight.
BK court remanded matter to state court; BK court abstained from hearing state court action; BK court lifted stay so that all matters in state court can continue. There will be language in the order that attempts to prevent this kind of thing in the future.
Hearing on whether or not to dismiss the bankruptcy case outright is set for the 10th.

A technical point of order. You cannot "plant" an endangered species as endangered "plants" appear naturally in the landscape. However, he could open up his attic as a nesting area for migratory birds (maybe I should not suggest this ![]()
Not so fast! I can "plant" a spotted owl in the attic much the same as I could "plant" the knife used to slash Vodika's tires on FroggieFever right before I tell the cops that they should search him. [disclaimer: I neither encourage, condone, nor engage in any acts of retribution, criminal or otherwise, against Vodika and/or any parties involved in the subject of this thread. Unless they are a froggie.]
The SMU Daily Campus has the better of two articles; the DMN leaves out the little detail that Vodicka was ordered to pay SMU's attorneys' fees associated with his little bankruptcy stunt and that Hale told him that if anyone else filed for bankruptcy in the future, they'd have to pay them too. How the DMN can leave that out is mind-boggling.

The image of this idiot cross-examining himself brings to mind the greatness of Cleavon Little in Blazing Saddles pulling the gun on himself...........
Rumor has it the announcement of SMU getting the library will occur the week before Thanksgiving - hopefully on the spot where Vodicka's condo once stood.......
If Vodicka doesn't pay, they won't let him file pleadings in BK court. And SMU incurred a lot of fees in this. I don't think Hale will have a problem finding them reasonable.
I wanna take a picture of his place being demolished and send it to him on the day the library opens.

Because the words 'University of Texas' were not mentioned.
