The Dallas Morning News Archive would probably be helpful. You could even be cheap and search the archive then go to the library and pull the microfiche.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mo ... las,_Texas I heard jack Ruby used to hang out at Campizis.[/quote] Just watched 'The Night of the White Pants' (It was in HD and I'm unemployed)....horrible script, but fun to see somebody try and paint a picture of life in Big D (Swiss Avenue, trophy wives)...but you know it's a fraud when they have to go to 'the other side of town' to get from Double Wide to The Adolphus. Then they'll be driving east through deep ellum and wind up getting on 35 at the triple underpass....golly. Anyway, it's on Showtime.
If you want a 'hot spot' in the late 70s, #3 Lift ( later 'The Lift') was a disco spot on NW highway around Webb Chapel, I believe...
not that I ever owned a leisure suit, or was refused entry there... Another bar that catered to grungy types, Ground Zero...I believe over on Greenville...lots of stoners, and ne'er-do-wells there, too. and yes, Jack Ruby did frequent Campisi's during the day...most of Dallas did during that time. stable-boy for the four horsemen of the apocalypse
