You go to Taco Diner for the scenery, not for the cuisine. And you get to wear your oversized sunglasses and not feel out of place.

Come on, BrianT — Taco Diner is pretty damn good. Over-priced, yes, but worthy of its reputation, I think.
If I want an overpriced taco I can go to Tin Star. At least there I am only paying $6 for a couple of tacos. The salsa is better as well. If I really want a decent taco and a really good price then I go to Taco Bueno or Taco Cabana. As for a place that has an overpriced burger that ain't that great, try Jasper's at the Shops in Legacy in Plano. They want $9 for a tasteless burger and for $4 more you can get the Wagyu "Kobe" burger. As for going to check out the scenery, I recommend a trip to Cafe Express who also has a really average burger but much better scenery at lunch for the $.
In fact, out in Far North Plano and Frisco area, I am still looking for a good burger. Purple Cow, Snuffers, and Texadelphia are just okay. JT's in Allen is pretty good but Scotty P's should be avoided wherever you go. Also, Country Burger in Plano on 15th and 14th streets are darn good. I miss the trips I used to take to Hole in the Wall on Harry Hines and 635 and then we would trek out to Kinkaid's in Ft Worth as well. Collin County just does not have anything of that calibre.

Try gazeebo Burger. I think off parke or parker and the tollway.

Gazeebo Burger is located on Royal Lane between Preston Road and the Toll Road. South side of the street next door to Ruggeri's Italian Restaurant. Decent burger that you 'build yourself'. Mostly a hangout for the St. Mark's, Jesuit, Hockaday and Ursuline kids, though. During lunch, it's the 'stay-at-home' mommy crowd and the assortment of rugrats to go with them.

My wife's grandfather swears by this burger. I always thought the old man was nuts for it, but I had it today and it was a great burger. One of the better ones I have had in awhile.
It tastes like the offspring if Jakes, kellers, and steak & shake mated.
Taco Diner. Try it, you won't regret it.
is that the place on 635 & MacArthur? I had a passing thought about stopping there on my way by this weekend...but I figured the Las Colinas place must be too new to be one sworn on by your grandfather in law

Are they all the same MM65? There was one at Frankford and the tollway but it closed. It seemed family owned, but not sure. Then I found what at the tollway and plano.

Mr Mustang - Gazeebo Burger has opened up a second location at Parker and the Tollway, on the west side of the Tollway.

Did not know that, PonySoprano. Thanks! Guess the Plano West kids will frequent that one!

Love that place! Ate there twice last week when I was in Dallas. Pure greatness.

It's actually off 114 and MacArthur. There's also one off Preston and NW HWY in that shopping center next to the Park Cities Baptist Church. And per the other threads, I agree it's over priced. You can find a taco vendor in Sunny East Dallas or the OC(that's Oak Cliff) that would serve better tacos for a fraction of the price. Couldn't imagine eating a burger there. That'd be like me pork chow mein at a soul food restaurant.

Since the FT Worth trip is coming up, I will remind everyone of the greatness of Kincaid's on Camp Bowie blvd. in Fort Worth. Once voted best burger in the country. I am sure it is mentioned in the previous 58 pages, but I am too lazy to look.
