The former mustangs can be mascots for the alumni relations department.

When did he say the decision would be made next year? I thought he said it was yet to be determined how they would be incorporated, but I missed him saying it would be next year.
There were some key people involved in game production/presentation that were questioning the use of the geldings as it pertained to the rest of the year. Orsini told them that the geldings' one appearance this year would be at the Navy game, and they would not be on the field again this year. A decision about their future use would be made in the offseason. I assume that couch 'em's source heard the same thing as my source did.
So he publicly said one thing, but according to your unnamed source(s) he said something else, and you assume that couch em has a source that heard the same thing. Pardon me if I go by what was said publicly.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...peruna is not not tamed???...at least those HORSES were actually wild at on point! haha...i'd like to see you try and ride one, the handler i was speaking to before they unveiled them said that they aren't able to be ridden yet cuz they have only been broken for 90 days and that doesn't take the years of wildness out of them nearly as much as people want to beleive

Thats pretty much how it always is so these HORSE KOOKS can try and connect their nutty dots....they have to always say "well so & so said" or "my source who knows a coach" or "someone told my ex-brother-in-law"....blah blah blah....bunch of horse manure! Bunch of whining babies!

Can't ride them? Hell they can stand on their saddle and do lasso tricks. See video at 3:00. What the hell are you talking about? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayy6RJh3sd0

RednBlue11 is ill-informed. He also believed that a shetland pony was not a horse.

Being that the 2 new animals have no junk and can't breed with anything, by your defn they too are not horses... You need to take logic at SMU...it may help you in the long run...

Shetland ponies can breed with horses. So can donkeys. Shetland ponies are horses. Donkeys aren't. Logic fails.

We had a guy here that just went on trial for having sexual relations with a horse. Maybe we can get him as a mascot.

Whoaaa...Arkanasas is starting to sound like Nebraska where the men are men and the sheep are skittish. (sorry...old joke)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

We don't have legit mustangs on the field, and we never will. Having a completely feral - UNTAMED - horse (definition of a MUSTANG) is unrealistic.
A mascot is just a mascot...period. The term mascot – defined as a term for any person, animal, or object thought to bring luck.
