TCU #1 Business School in Texas (WSJ)From Killer Frogs...
Just saw the 2005 rankings by Wall Street Journal and TCU is #1 in Texas. Most of us probably already know TCU is #1 academics in Texas but thought I would post WSJ article. http://online.wsj.com/public/resources/ ... eboard.pdf 1 1 Purdue University (Krannert) 2 8 Michigan State University (Broad) 3 3 Ohio State University (Fisher) 4 10 Thunderbird (Garvin) 5 11 IPADE 6 5 Brigham Young University (Marriott) 7 17 Wake Forest University (Babcock) 8 9 University of Denver (Daniels) 9 7 Tecnologico de Monterrey 10 16 University of Miami 11 13 Indiana University (Kelley) 12 19 Emory University (Goizueta) 13 15 University at Buffalo/SUNY 14 -- Fordham University 15 4 University of Maryland (Smith) 16 -- University of Iowa (Tippie) 17 20 University of Rochester (Simon) 18 6 Texas Christian University (Neeley) 19 25 College of William and Mary 20 14 Southern Methodist University (Cox) 21 2 Vanderbilt University (Owen) 22 24 Rice University (Jones) 23 12 University of Tennessee, Knoxville 24 -- University of Arizona (Eller) 25 18 Washington University (Olin) 26 30 University of Utah (Eccles) 27 21 University of Florida (Warrington) 28 31 Texas A&M University (Mays) 29 27 University of Notre Dame (Mendoza) 30 38 University of Georgia (Terry) 31 37 George Washington University 32 32 University of Minnesota (Carlson) 33 26 Pennsylvania State University (Smeal) 34 33 University of Wisconsin, Madison 35 -- University of Texas, Austin (McCombs) 36 29 University of Washington 37 22 University of Pittsburgh (Katz) 38 36 Georgetown University (McDonough) Go Frogs! Re: TCU #1 Business School in Texas (WSJ)
Whatever helps you sleep at night.
It actually brings up an interesting point. I’ve noticed over the past year that in these rankings (Princeton Review also comes to mind) that UT has dropped considerably…anyone know why…is it part of their new admissions policy mandated by the state???
Had Mr. Froggie dude been an SMU graduate he would have been able to discern that this is a ranking of college RECRUITERS favorite schools - not a ranking of quality. Big Difference.
No third party source would rank their pathetic business school anywhere near the top of the state relative to quality.
gostangs... you are truly, truly, illiterate--I'm through with you. Actually, my friends, TCU football players are some of the most successful students on our campus!
Go Frogs! Pony Up!
Another interesting statistic: TCU student athletes rank higher in their classes, hold higher GPAs, and receive higher accumulative transcripts than the rest of the student body.

You do know that this ranking is by a panel of corporate recruiters right? It has nothing to do with academics, etc. What is the average starting salary for a TCU MBA? $63,000 (straight from their website, with 3-5 years of experience) and $85,000 if more than 5 years experience. The AVERAGE salary for a COX MBA is $78,000 with a $15,000 signing bonus. That's $93,000 right out of the gate. All data straight from the school's websites.
Look at the Cox School of Business PMBA and EMBA programs. PMBA is #10 by Forbes and #12 by USNews (this is the biggest program by far at SMU - approx. 600 students), EMBA is ranked #15 in the country by USNews. Neeley is a fine school and TCU is definitely putting more emphasis on their business school and recruiting Professional MBA's (the cash cow of both schools). It's ludicrous to declare TCU as the top business school in the state on one skewed ranking. "Then in the Arctic half-light of the canyon, all existence fades to a being with my soul and memories and the sounds of the Big Blackfoot River and a four-count rhythm and the hope that a fish will rise."
All this statements proves is that your student body is of lower academics that the big dumb jocks. Just send 'da money.
