The following is a dialog I had with a friend today in school.

Friend: Where are you thinking about going to college?
Me: I'll probably go to SMU
Friend: SMU's a good school - that's in Dallas, right?
Me: Yes, it's in Dallas. It's a great school, especially for business.
Friend: Are they purple?

Lets think positive. Perhaps your friend was blending the red and blue. Sort of a conversational short cut.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I need to stop reading ponyfans when my thought processes are the same as mrydel.

You resemble that remark?

As long as we aren't being confused with TCU, I'm fine...

And here's one of the MAIN problems that SMU has nowadays. IDENTITY! Your friend doesn't even know that SMU is in DALLAS...let alone what color.

I bet if you asked your friend where A&M, U.T. or Texas Tech is, he/she would know.

SMU's marketing department needs to work harder with its IDENTITY!

Exactly. That's what I found so irksome.

Actually, when "Knight School" was on ESPN, if one pushed the 'Info' button on DirecTV, it said that the series was "From College Station, Texas."

On the other hand the person could have been thinking about TCU! But how could anyone want to go to TCU?
