Posted: Thu Sep 07, 2006 8:20 amI'd choose Waco, half-way between Austin and Dallas. Lubbock is half-way between Ft. Worth and hell. Denton is where you stop when the burger you ate in Norman starts talking.

Posted: Sun Sep 10, 2006 1:58 pmLubbock (no) - Friendly people and a nice place to raise your kids. But it's isolated from everyone else and once the Oglalla (sp) aquafir (also sp) dries up, so does the twon.
Waco (no)- Halfway between Dallas and Austin but too far away from both. Which means you'll be spending most of your time in Waco (ugh).
Denton (yes)- It's practically a suburb of Dallas anyway. And a cheap on at that.

You hit the nail on the head: the only positive to Waco is that it is 100 miles to Austin one way and 100 miles to Dallas the other. (I spent three years in law school in Waco and put a lot of miles on my car)
