Daughter Lucy "regifted" a wedding gift to my first bride and me. Would have gotten away with it if it had not been broken and glued back together. She was a good mother and wife.

She was born in Karnack, near Caddo Lake, and graduated from Marshall High School, here in East Texas. There is a park under construction here in her honor. Is ashamed she will not be here for its opening.

Fine woman. Stalwart mainstay of profound dignity.

Godspeed....

one of the revealing things that have come out with tape recordings from the Johnson White House has been what a keen political strategist she was-which was largely hidden from the public. She in fact was one of LBJ's most trusted advisers but to the public had a very traditional First Lady personna. She was a smart cookie.

A wonderful representative of the great state of Texas who did wonders in restoring beauty throughout Texas and all of the United States! Junkyard owners feared her wrath! You were one-in-a-million, Lady Bird! Rest in peace on the banks of the Pedernales River.
