Postby CalallenStang » Wed Jul 25, 2007 10:17 am

watching MSNBC...looks like several explosions at a gas plant near the 30/35 interchange...debris being found a mile away by some reports...two propane tanks hit Reunion Arena...

was just about to post this. There is streaming video on foxnews' website. I won't link it because I will not willingly lead someone to fox news. Ha!

Don't worry. It's on WFAA.com as well. And I think on CNN. It was acetylene (sp?) tanks. One caught fire on a truck (I have no idea how) and then lit up every acetylene tank there. Both 35 and 30 are closed. Stay away from downtown if possible. The gas can cause you to feel sick and so will the traffic related to the highway closings.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here: Bubba threw a lit cigarette near one of the tanks.

News reports are saying that stuff (acetelyne, or however it's spelled) is one of the hottest-burning fueld gasses out there.

Also said a large piece hit the SPCA that's a block away.

According to news conference right now...they will not send in firefighters until they think its safe to do so...and right now it is "very dangerous"

So, if the SPCA gets burned, does that make this company guilty of cruelty to animals?

They were finding Acetylene tanks as far as 400 yds away, my boss said as he was leaving the omniplan office he could hear stuff exploding still.

Judging by the smog and the shiny shirts, I'd say yes.
