Apparently she is from the Harry Reid school of facts. She only posts the negative comments and conveniently leaves out any of the positive.

I did not get the impression she'd received any positive comments in her email.

She references quotes from "others", those being the negative statements made on ponyfans.com. She just accidentally forgot to include any of the positive ones.

***EDIT*** I see now that she attributes those quotes to her email. They just seem to be very familiar sounding to some of those posted here. I may well be mistaken which would effectively fill my quota of mistakes for 2007 at the maximum of 1.

I cracks me up when people say they're angry because this ad campaign "confuses" them. My personal favorite is the guy who's all worked up about the font of the arrow. That irregular font is confusing me! Pick a different font! Dammit SMU!

For you guys who are out of town and have not seen the lamp post banners, they really do look like they are trying to give directions somewhere. Every one I have seen have noticed has been pointing away from campus. It's kind of funny if you can let your sense of humor out for a minute.

I understand, but the ones here in Sherwood are definitely pointing southwest. I feel like I could just get in my car, follow the arrow and end up at Ford.

Yes, the idea of somebody driving their family to Red Bird Mall in search of SMU tickets as a result of an expensive ad campaign is indeed funny. I would laugh at that. But it's not near as funny as some of the stuff people wrote to that woman. I mean good lord, some of these people just like to listen to themselves. And it makes them look obtuse, IMO. That's what I find funny.

Does Red Bird Mall still exist? I saw one of the Chucky horror movies there. Swore I'd never go back.

On one side of the post is the home schedule (I also think it says SMU and has a picture of a football on it) and on the other is the "pony up" logo. If a person is looking at that is so stupid to think that SMU is somehow in that direction, then that person is too stupid to figure out what a football game is.

Announcer: McDonald's new Big N' Tasty! It's what you crave! The Big N' Tasty is a juicy quarter-pound all-beef patty, served with crisp lettuce and tomato on a sesame seed bun!

Jive Voice: Can you taste it?

Announcer: Mmm-hmm! Big and tasty!

Voiceover: In response to pending legal action, the McDonald's Corporation would like to present the following statement:

[ statements over SUPER ]

"The Big N' Tasty Sandwich is food."

"Scientific studies suggest that excessive consumption of food may cause weight gain. In other words, if you stuff your greasy pie hole non-stop, you’re probably going to pork up."

"The McDonald's Corporation had previously believed that this was obvious to all but very small children and morons. Since children and morons are valued customers of McDonald's Corporation, we would like to point out other potential risks that could be associated with the Big N' Tasty."

"The Big N' Tasty is intended to be eaten. Complications may arise from shoving the Big N' Tasty up your nose. Dropping the Big N' Tasty from extremely tall buildings may cause the Big N' Tasty to achieve sufficient terminal velocity, to injure innocent people below."

"The Big N' Tasty should not be used as an artificial heart."

"The McDonald's Corporation seriously doubts anyone would try this, but, hey, if you didn't know gorging yourself on hamburgers might turn you fatass, then anything's possible."

"According to United States Law, the Big N' Tasty cannot perform the duties of a Legal Guardian. If you were to go into McDonald's and say, "Hey, Big N' Tasty, take care of my kids while I run some errands," you may face legal action."

"Theoretically, the Big N' Tasty could be mistaken for a weapon during a police stand-off."

"Marriage ceremonies officiated by the Big N' Tasty are not recognized in any of the contiguous 48 states."

"The Big N’ Tasty is not God."

"For questions about any additional use of the Big N' Tasty - other than eating, please consult our web site."

Announcer: Come on! It's big, it's tasty and it's waiting for you at McDonald's!

Voiceover: For the small children or morons, McDonald's is the red and yellow restaurant on the highway. Remember to bring money.

Jive Voice: Big N' Tasty!

I am very glad I wasn't trying to drink anything while reading that. It kinda of reminds me of the Full Throttle radio ads I used to hear that would have crazy disclaimers.

Blasphemy! Boulevard > Tailgate Beautiful scenery. No hot parking lots. The only real downside is the new price hike, but I understand that real estate on the 'Vard gets kinda limited. How can any person actually say that tailgating isn't better than the Boulevard? Too civilized!?! Is it supposed to look like New Orleans during Mardi Gras? (That might get our attendance numbers up) Maybe she is referring to the dress that some students wear. I'll concede that there aren't enough people because last year some parts were barren. But I seriously question this lady's judgment.

Then I hit the "side note" (or extra jab). This lady loses credibility when she says we have brand new uniforms and that the players looked 5'5". :?: She must be one of the people who thinks the arrows are confusing because they seem to be giving directions.

I don't know that writer — perhaps that was her first post? Either way, that magazine has been society-driven tripe for years, and is good for little more than lining a garage floor in case of an oil drip. Seems like nothing has changed.

Students seem to love the campaign, the slogan, and the increased giving a damn by the school. At least all of the sophmores I've talked to. Entire football team was with coach Bennett today at convocation to welcome the freshman.
