RIP - General Joe's Chopstix...did it get closed down? i heard it was....
Re: General Joe's Chopstix...
that big, old fat lady that ran the cash register had the worst attitude.
Re: General Joe's Chopstix...
yeah, but it was good food.
Re: General Joe's Chopstix...
i agree. especially after drinking.
what i found interesting about that place was when they placed the "black plastic view blocker" behind the register a couple of years ago.
Found a tiny roach in my fried rice there when I was in college. The lady at the register kind of looked embarrassed, but, alas, no money back, no apology, no nothing. As much as I loved that place, just like Miami Subs, I could not go back.

am sad to hear ur experience at GJs but I loved the food and never had a roach in my rice.
General Joe's and all the other businesses in that strip center are not having their leases renewed. This is the property that Hunt bought and will, most likely, after being demolished, provide parking for the GWB Library.
Chopstix kept me aliveI don't know how the dining facilities at SMU are these days, but GJ's Chopstix first opened during my junior year and that place kept me alive during my time in Dallas. Probably ate there 4x a week. Much better than that Chinese delivery place called Best Around.

One of my classmates/friends told me about Chopstix's closing a couple of weeks ago. I was sad to hear of its demise. That place was open when I was still in HS and when I'd get off the DART bus to wait on my ride home, I'd usually stop in and get a couple of Egg Rolls and some soup. and I would eat there often once I was at SMU. Man, Sweet and Sour Chicken sounds good for lunch today.
