i love how we all have anointed her "SMU co-ed" when she hasnt even taken a class here yet. I sure hope she does actually enroll in the fall and go to class full time, unlike last spring.

It was a great race too. A couple of lead changes. I was at the Rangers game and they aired the race (delayed) on the right field screen after the fire works show. The place went nuts. Everyone was on their feet chanting "USA...USA...USA", and went off after he won. Great story and know the rest of the olympics won't seem to matter as much.

Apparently she HAS taken a class (or classes), as evidenced by the story on the school's website. The following is posted there:

SMU congratulates North Texas resident Nastia Liukin, who attended SMU in 2007 before focusing full-time on her training for the Olympics in Beijing. Liukin, who lives in Parker, Texas, near Plano, thrilled worldwide audiences and boosted U.S. pride by winning the gold medal in Women's Individual All-Around competition. She also won a silver medal on Wednesday as part of the U.S. Women's team in the Gymnastics Artistic competition.

she NEVER actually attended (a class)...she enrolled/registered but never went to class to focus on her training fulltime for the Olympics...by enrolling, i guess they consider that attending.

So...you're saying that her parents (or someone) dished out approximately $30,880 for her to enroll/register at SMU but she never attended a class???? Talk about disposable income!
