Got to the office today and started responding to my work-related emails. On the very first one, I had to catch myself and start over. Why? because I had copy & pasted (or 'quoted') part of what the sender had emailed, and was about to respond with a tongue in cheek, borderline smartass retort much like what we would expect to see on pf.com.

I'd better do like Barney Fife and nip this in the bud, or I'm likely to be responding to emails with "TWSS."

I guess that's a sign of too much ponyfans.

No, but back when I worked in HR I was following up with a request for salary requirements to a candidate who had sent in his resume. When he replied that he was "open as to salary." I forwarded an email to the company's vp asking what the hell the guy meant by that. But apparently I replied instead. Oops!

I thought you were going to talk about male disfunction from the title. And there wouldn't have been any responses, other than guys giving you grief.

Well at my old workplace, we were a 10-man arm of the company with only one upper-management type in the office. Your mom and that's what she said was pretty much par for the course. And we were all just blatantly mean to each other. One of my co-workers said he thought he might have to quit because he kept going home to his girlfriend and couldn't get out of "jerk" mode.

But the point is we had some issues when folks from our other more corporate offices would come in, though most of them fell right in, unless it was one of the bosses. In that case we just made fun of them behind their backs.
