The whole thing was a sham. If anyone is planning on going to this thing I would strongly advise against it. They charge you 35 dollars at the door then another 7 for the audio tour. And for what? A few interesting exhibits leading to Tut, but then somebody really drops the ball. One room dedicated to Tut. No sarcophagus(coffin), no golden mask, nothing that you see on the billboards or in any history books. Buyers beware. :x

damn. thanks for the heads up. I was planning on going after football season but I guess not. $35?! And I thought the 6th Floor Museum was expensive ($13.50 for adults). Def. not worth it!

They sucked-in 75 kids from my son's Episcopal school here in Marshall.
Went in chartered buses and everything...big production b/c it was supposed to be one of those "once in a lifetime" exhibits.

Every adult that went gave the obligatory "it was great", but to me, it was the kind of compliment that people give b/c they think something was missing, but they can't put their collective finger on it. My son liked it, though. He's eleven (11); what does he know. He was just stoked they got to go on a chartered bus, and he got to sit next to his "crush" girl of the week.

They did say that the exhibit doesn't give any additional access to the DMA. I thought that kinda sucked too.

Wow, $35!!! This is one thing about living in the DC area. The Smithsonian museums are all free and the Gov't buildings are free (Capitol, White House, Mint). You might need a ticket to a certain exhibit, but its at most $2-5. Now some of the private museums here charge more, (like Madam Taussad's), but with all the free stuff in town, they can't charge as much as because, people will just skip that exhibit.
