This is why I loathe the DMN......The headline screams SMU graduate killed when in reality, it has nothing to do with SMU but it certainly makes it sound like another death at SMU. Sensationalizing the headline at SMU's expense - cheesy....................

I hate to ask, but what kind of club is this. It seems like nothing good happens after 2 a.m. if you're outside.

Wow that is awful. I had a couple of classes with her at school. Didn't know her well, but I remember the name. This makes me never, ever want to venture downtown at night. It's crazy stuff happens like this to innocent people.

Man accused in murder of SMU grad outside Dallas nightclub 11:17 AM CT
11:46 AM CDT on Friday, April 10, 2009
By ASHLEIGH REUTER / The Dallas Morning News
Dallas police announced today an arrest in the murder of a 24-year-old SMU graduate who was shot waiting outside a Dallas club last month.
Authorities received a tip and arrested Alejandro Espinoza, 21, on an accusation that he fatally shot Jessica Waldron on March 29, Dallas police said.
Waldron had been waiting for valet to return with her car about 2:20 a.m. when she was shot outside the Ultra Lounge on Commerce Street. Witnesses told police shots came from a dark-colored pickup heading south on Pearl Street.
Waldron was struck in the lower back and later died at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas.
Waldron graduated in 2007 from SMU where she was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and worked in the communications department at Pier 1 Imports in Fort Worth.
