I was at the Rangers game Wed night and saw Kinsler hit for the cycle and Nellie Cruz almost hit two grand slams........it got me thinking about my favorite games ever to see in person. I have a clear top 3:

3. 1999 - game two of the Stanley Cup Finals (Stars vs Buffalo) - Hockey is not my first love but this was very cool. great environment and great game...Stars won 4-2.

2. 1996 - NFC Championship (Cowboys vs Green Bay) - No explanation needed....just unbelievable to see two great teams/QB on that stage and having the boys win.

1. 2006 - game three of the Mavs/Spurs playoff series - not only the greatest game I've ever seen in person but the best atmosphere and crowd I've been a part of. It was two great teams playing at the highest level in what was the best NBA playoff series I've ever seen.

The greatest sports venue I’ve been to is Fenway – it was a game in mid May against the White Sox and you would have thought it was a playoff game the way the Red Sox fans were into the game. Passionate fans and great environment.

A&M 38 - Texas 30, 2007 @ Kyle Field, atmosphere was insane.

I wasnt at the 06 game, but the watchparty I was at was pretty awesome...does that count?

Game 5 June 4 (Fri.) Boston Celtics 128-126 (3 OT) @ Boston over the Phoenix Suns I was at the Boston Gardens that night for the famous triple OT game. What a game!

June 3, 1995 in San Diego to see then Montreal pitcher Pedro Martinez take a perfect game into extra innings. That has only happen twice (Harvey Haddix in 1959). I scored the game and still have the scorecard.

SMU-UT, Oct. 25, 1980 the debut of the Pony Express and one heck of a beautiful Texas day to beat the Horns.

I am still steamed I missed that. I had a mini season ticket plan and that was one of the games in the package, I almost never missed games on the days I had tickets but my work buddy wanted to take his son to a game and I gave him my tickets for that night, bummer!

He still has the ticket stub framed at his house.

No brainer for me that this was number 1. I was living just outside Austin at the time and it made life very nice.

Second was seeing Nolan Ryan's no hitter against the Dodgers circa 1980. Got to visit with the Astros after the game as the guest of my friend Phil Garner who was on the team at that time.

1. Super Bowl in 2003 in Houston. Patriots vs Panthers. Amazing game from start to finish- of the best Super Bowls I have ever seen in my lifetime, much less in person. Also the famous Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction occurred at halftime.

2. Biggio's 3,000th hit game.

3. Trying to recall others...

Ralph Sampson's final UVA home game in '83. Something like 1.7 left on the clock, UVA down one, Sampson misses the front end of a 1-1, gets his own rebound, and sticks a 15-ft turnaround jumper at the buzzer to beat Maryland

UCF fans tear down goal post @ the Citrus Bowl after breaking 17 game losing streak by beating Marshall

I know the pain , UCF lost 17 games in a row, but I still flew out to watch this game in Florida, my son was not even playing anymore. What a great feeling to win that game and end the longest loosing streak in college ball that year. Went on to a bowl game the next year! Cue SMU!

I've seen numerous great events here in LA including Nolan Ryan's no-no against the Twins (Sorry General  ) and Sandy K's Perfect Game against the Cubbies, O.J.'s "23 Blast" 64 yd. T.D. to beat the hated Bruins, but nothing approaches the Game 1 9th inning of the 1988 World Series.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHFiYyatM7s

Kirk Gibson was truly "The Natural" as life emulated art!

The most amazing thing was watching from the stands all the typical LA Fan's cars stuck in the parking lot because they wanted to "beat traffic" and because this "Game was over".

Nothing approaches that moment for pure drama in sports.
