NYT: A U.S.F.L. Team That Played for the Love of the Game

Story on the 1985 San Antonio Gunslingers team that played for free.

Putt Choate, one of the captains of that team is quoted a few times in the story.

I've seen that name on the board. I believe he's a former Mustang.

Thanks. Seveal Mustangs played a little in the USFL. Craig James, Mike Ford, Lee Spivey, Bob Fisher and Putt Choate. There may be others but those are the ones I remember.
