Seriously? Last week I was about to leave the board because I was sick of it. Now when I try and find out what it was even like, I can't!
Ugh, you SMU alums. Too successful to let a feelow displaced Mustang know the goings on?

PERUNA IS STILL MY ONE AND ONLY MASCOT
Really though, if you care at all about this, you've got to keep your opinion known even in lieu of opposition. It will come back.

What happened was overwhelming disapproval of one of the most ridiculous ideas ever floated by this university. Disapproval by alumni, students, and now the University Senate. We know who the real hard core fans are on this board and we know which ones will do anything to suck the teet of June Jones. Objection was registered and we won't be seeing those horses at Ford DESPITE their prior intentions. We also learned the horses are pretty damn boring-and do not and never will represent the spirit of the university.

Notice how Varsity Slop is nowhere to be found this week advancing the talking points. With nothing more to add after the event has come and gone, it's pretty telling.

Well, he had his head so far up JJ and Orsini's backsides that he probably made a wrong turn at Albuquerque and couldn't find his way back to Ponyfans.

I like the Student Senate motion for Peruna as well....I am sure that many people on here said the under 30 crowd didn't care about Peruna....

All I know is that with only Peruna on the field we were up 21-7 on Navy. Once the geldings took the field our fortunes on the gridiron went south. We are 0-1 with the geldings. I blame the Navy loss on them. They are now a symbol of our losing leads at home in the second half.
To the glue factory with them, or better yet, how about letting them roam free in Wyoming where "Real Live" Mustangs should live.

Do we know for certain what their prior intentions were? I might have missed them, but all I recall seeing was that Orsini said their future involvement was yet to be determined. There was a quote from one of the horse trainers that there were going to be mascots, but I would not really consider him to speak for the school or to have full knowledge of their plans.
What I saw at halftime Saturday was not particularly interesting or exciting to me, but it was nothing like the absolute debacle predicted by many (including me). I think the reason the horsetalk died down is that it turned out to be much ado about nothing.

So you're saying there were no prior intentions stated, just inferred?
