...than those 2 chumps perched on geldings for 4 quarters? What th' hell is going on? Does anybody see the "big picture" here? This isn't right. The SMU administration - president and athletic director - have no backbone. Who is calling the shots on this ridiculous situation?

I do not see how those two cowboys sitting on their horse at the SW corner of the field add ANYTHING to the game day atmosphere or how they are even relevant to who we are.

Get ready for "VarsityShop" to come on here talking about the raucous crowd reaction when the horses entered the stadium and the mob of 100,000 that watched the team walk to the stadium.

I'm telling ya, they need to be up on the grassy area next to the scoreboard. Just above where they were stationed Saturday vs. Rice.

Not only would they be more visible from that perch, you could set up an information booth/table about the Mustang rescue foundation. Allow people to see, and possibly pet, those animals up close. Use it to raise funds for the rescue foundation - as their gift was purportedly intended.

Having them stand in a corner of the field for the entire game does no one any good, inspirationally or otherwise. If we must have them, at least use them for some good - to raise money and interest for the Mustang rescue.

Best post - and maybe the only constructive post - in the lengthy trail of this horsetalk. Great idea.

How about letting them graze - without riders - on the hill? Might make for a really unique backdrop that would look cool to fans in attendance and on TV.

Honestly, I didn't even notice the new horses at all Saturday. This is becoming a non-topic.

Great Idea Longtime. Pass it on to Orsini.

As far as having them graze without riders, that may require fencing etc., but what if you have one with a rider and the other without. The rider could then control both...the one he is sitting on of course and the other by holding on to a rope attached to the others bridle or whatever they attach a rope to when leading a riderless horse around. Then we would have one true mustang, i.e., no rider.

I thought that was where Gerald J. Ford was going to put the Rams. Should we build pens for the various animals?
