The ads that are served up already make their site too slow to want to browse.
Does the subscription remove all of the ads?

I cleared my cookies, had to log in. - the Dillard pop up is irritating.
Looks like there is not an online only option, which is stupid.
Weekly option and Sun only option. Maybe they will fire JJT at the same time they transfer. He is the worst writer the DMN has ever had.

I am a weekly home subscriber so I get the full web content with only a few ads on the side and top. No pop ups so far.

heard Cuban on The Ticket the other day and he said he thought it was a good idea. Reasoning was it's providing value and protecting what share they still have of actual subscribers. Those that get home delivery now have something else (added value), and the rest of us who go elsewhere now because we don't pay werent paying anyway (i.e. putting some coin in their pocket didnt cost them any subscribers)

do we know how much is limited? I see the symbol on a few articles.
I don't want the paper delivered, you would think they would do a cheap online version only. Newspapers are dead.

I'm on the fence right now. It sucks, but I probably will pony up and subscribe. I stop subscribing to papers long ago as the info they preseneted was mainly dated. I go to sleep reading the news and wake up doing the same, so I was already ahead of whatever showed up on my door step.

the thing i still like about traditional media is that it puts something in front of me that i might not have otherwise seen. online i click on what i want to see, but miss out on a lot of other available, and sometimes pertinent, info.

I will not subscribe. I have not read the DMN hard copy for years and will get my news somewhere else. However I will support paid news sites if I feel I get content I want. I enjoy news about SMU sports and subscribe to rivals to get my news.

Newspapers in print are not dead, they are dying. Some of we old codgers still enjoy the black ink on our fingers, and like it or not, the baby boomers are a big demographic and we are the old codgers.
Will they die off? Sure. That is progress good or bad. But in the mean time, it sounds as if the DMN has found a way to integrate both to the advantage of the print subscribers. I will be sad when the day comes that the print additions are no longer available, and I am certain it will happen in my expected lifetime, but I will survive. Question is, will we have to start putting computer flat screen monitors in the bottom of bird cages?

Just read every story on the website. : )
And this is really an academic discussion for me anyway, since Jedi Masters all have access to the World Brain and thus can download info instantly on any subject.

I remember the DMN made most of their Cowboys content for pay a few years ago. It didn't go that well for them. I am expecting similar results with this.
