This "competition" must be similar to the UIL marching contest for bands - everybody gets a "1" and a big [deleted] sweepstakes trophy.

Definition of "old" ... when I was in school, I picked up the DC to read about the various SMU teams, and found several in there! They were well-written and informative, too.

The online sports coverage is sometimes rife with inaccuracies. Such as quoting stats from several seasons past.

I pick it up anytime I'm in the Fondren Library. It's usually a pretty good read. Though, for reasons stated in this thread, I stay away from their sports write-ups a bit.

Surprised. The paper is thin in content, gives space to non-SMU stories and is not particularly engaging. Journalism here and everywhere is on the decline. :(
