SMU Merchandise WARNING!

After finally getting to the point of frustration about SMU not selling any soccer merchandise (other than the old gray shirt in the bookstore with navy blue lettering and the little phony pony - which I have already had for about five years now), I gave in and bought one of those silly "pick-a-sport" shirts from the online store:

I figured for $18 it would tide me over until (hopefully) the school actually started selling shirts for their most popular sport other than football and basketball.

Well, after one washing (in cold water, inside out, with gentle detergent no less), the screening has already started wearing off.

So, DO NOT BUY ANY OF THESE SHIRTS OR YOU WILL BE WASTING YOUR MONEY!

And please, SMU, get some decent soccer merchandise!

Actually, act like a major university and get decent merchandise for all of your varsity sports. You may be surprised to find out how many fans you actually have.

Thx for the warning. I was actually looking at that.

The shirt itself is Gildan - which is a decent brand and a pretty standard option at places like zazzle, idakoos, customink, etc.

However, whoever they are using to do their screening is obviously substandard.

Even more frustrating is while checking out the UCLA website today looking at the big SMU-UCLA women's soccer game this Friday, they have really nice adidas sport shirts available in their online store for most of their major sports (including soccer of course). Bruin blue with their logo and the sport name like the ones the team has.

I just wonder if it is an SMU decision not to make them available to the general public because obviously adidas makes them.

I thought adidas was our uniform supplier. Why would we not want to support them? Nike or UnderArmor I can understand but not Adidas.

GO PONIES!!!

Have to say that I was very disappointed when I stopped into the bookstore during move-in looking for a soccer shirt for my nephew. There wasn't anything in youth sizes - not even the shirt you mentioned above. He's a huge soccer fan (and player) and I had wrongly promised him I would pick one up while we were in Dallas. It didn't occur to me that one wouldn't be avaiable for one of the top programs in the country.

Didn't someone say you can order an SMU SOFTBALL shirt?

A sport we don't have, but you can't get real SMU soccer gear? Those grey t-shirts are printed up by folks who don't even know where SMU is. Where can we get real adidas soccer gear that looks at least a little like what the teams wear?

They always talk at games about how we can wear what the players and coaches wear. Apparently that's a lie.

Yeah - you can select softball, but you can't get select Equestrian! A sport we do have!

Totally agree with you on the lack of soccer merchandise, and every time I hear them announce how you can wear the same thing the teams wear my blood pressure goes up at least 20 points.

Top 25 in everything...

Those are ok but they have had them for years now. The navy blue and the phony pony definitely date them.

We need nice new adidas SMU soccer shirts.
