Coming to a wedding June 16th, staying at the Lumen Hotel on Hillcrest. Marriage is at Highland Park Methodist, reception at DCC. Will need to decompress afterwards. Gonna tour SMU, see Ford Stadium, checkout Moody, hitup a Pony necktie and cap at the bookstore. Is 1st & 10 bar alumni owned? Any others for a night owl withing walk/ cab distance? Other ideas that weekend?

Twisted Root is better (across from old Green Elephant/current Barley House, depending on your age) and closer. Campisi's (on Mockingbird) for pizza is a must.

Within walk/cab distance? Isn't everything within cab distance?
Anyway. Go to Milo's.

+1 on going to Milo's. Also, get a burger from Goff's down the street from the Lumen on Hillcrest.

Yes, as one of the 5 SMU alumni who own 1st & 10, we are 100% alumni owned, 2 of which played football for SMU. Please stop by for a Point Burger & cottage fries. (twisted root is ok - nothing special but a moderate sized chain restaurant, only fueled by the Guy Fieri Hype Machine, but someone on here for some reason has a bone to pick with me, so he does the only thing he can and that is talk down our establishment - and promote what Diners, Drive-ins and [deleted] tells him is good).
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

Twisted Root has VERY average burgers. Not nearly as good as 1st & 10
Other good burgers with decent crowds are Old Monk, Capitol Pub, The Loon, Louie's, Lee Harvey's all are relatively close with great burgers but I don't think any are smu owned.

I think Twisted Root has by far the best burger in that part of town. Good Friends out in east Dallas is the best I've had in the city ever.

Yeah I love Twisted root and I find it far better than KFC and McD. When I was in Dallas, I had a lot of them. I wish if those are available here too.

The wedding is on a Monday? But yes, barley house and Milo's. Ozona is a solid spot too. The nodding donkey right there has really solid pizzas. And fwiw I do like twisted root a lot.

Looks like the wedding was almost two years ago. Wonder how the couple is doing? Still together?
