more to College of Education-(previously donated $20 Million). Nobody had mentioned yet but I believe that's the 2nd biggest gift ever received by SMU-isn't it?. Pretty good for a UT graduate. More campus construction coming,

Which will feature reduced parking nearby, too. That new building is gonna easily cut in half the number of parking spots currently in that lot just to the south of Simmons Hall, unless they also plan to build another parking garage, which doesn't look very likely.

BTW I've often pointed out that SMU undergraduates have been able to pursue a Sports Management or Applied Physiology Degree in the College of Education-and plenty of SMU athletes are enrolled there. Also noticed that SMU offers an undergraduate minor to obtain a Teaching Certificate. Apparently, in Texas you can not major in Education but this minor is availiable. Maybe this expansion will lead to more undergraduate opportunities in the College of Education with more space.

SMU is an urban university. Surface lot parking is not the future.

You can major in music education but perhaps not general. While I was an international graduate student at SMU I concurrently got licensed to teach music. The program was very helpful to me. Of course i quit teaching music... but still

i was thinking about donating that much, but then my checking account would be -$24,998,000.

i would imagine there would be some overdraft fees associated with that.

I think it is just 25 dollars per transaction.

Yup. Welcome to the big city. Ride the train, bus, bike, or walk. You'll never worry about parking again.

Unless I'm a student, and I'm not anymore, who cares about parking? Don't think the rankings take into account "parking availability." I'll take another beautiful building & an expanded mission w/ the School of Education.

Well of course. Even if I find a parking place at USC it is a 2500 mile walk to the stadium.

Hahahaha, well put.

I've also never met anyone -- anywhere -- who has said: "Gee, there's too much damn parking, where shall I park?" It's a problem everywhere.
