SMU not worthy

Noticed a one page ad in today's DMN for the One Day University sponsored by the DMN's. The promotion states that the DMNs and One Day University are bringing together professors from the finest schools to present special versions of their very best lectures at the Adolphus on Saturday, May 11. Included are professors from Harvard, Yale, UCLA, UT, Rice, Vanderbilt, Arizona, Cornell and Columbia. All fine universities no doubt but to exclude the University up the street is puzzling. Surely we have at least one professor who measures up to the standards of this academic event. I guess we still have a long ways to go.

Meh. Not sure SMU need to worry all that much about being "worthy". Looks like a wanna-be TED-type thing to me.

When it comes from the DMN, are we really surprised? LOL!!!

I don't think there is anything to worry about.

A blind pig finds an acorn every now and then, Texas State used to even have a highly regarded professor as well a few years back. I don't think this is a direct indication of any school's academic credentials.
