I really like how Walgreens has a lot of SMU merch but I laughed when I saw this.

I have several times heard about the club baseball team but never any details. Who do they play against? Where do they ply? Is there ever a schedule put on Ponyfae?

Under NCAA rules is it possiblee to have D1 teams in some sports and D2 or D3 teams in others?

Colorado College is D1 in ice hockey. .I don't know if Dallas Baptist plays sports besides baseball but if they do doubt it's D1

I believe a lower division school can have one team at the d1 level but I don't think it works the other way. Dallas baptist baseball is my prime example, they are d1 in baseball only d2 in everything else.

We need a baseball team in D1 so that we keep in the radar for basketball and football offseasons

SMU needs a D1A baseball program. It truly sucks that we do not have one. I don't know about the logistics of a regulation field but can you imagine the intramural field in front of the Bush Center flanked by the most beautiful basketball arena in Texas and a brand new state of the art baseball stadium? I know it'll never happen but I think SMU needs baseball.

Does SMU have a softball club, too?

i'd like to someday see baseball - and realize that softball would have to be added which will make it hard - on general principals and tfrankly o attract those football prospects who might want to play two sports.

Our first need is a a football program that that will consistently attract more attention in the fall. Unless there is a radical change we seem headed towards a time when the JJ years are thought of as the good times for SMU football and that something is wrong with Dallas or the University that kept us at that level.

Very few - almost no - players want to play both baseball and football.

We are way more likely to start a lacrosse team at the D-1 level then baseball.

If we want to attract multisport players, bring back men's track. The 25 people watching a men's track and field event will outnumber the fans we had in the stands when we had baseball in the past.

Baseball is a huge waste. Dying sport requiring unique facilities.
