I'm pretty sure he's a CoC member but I could be wrong.

I believe he has a suite at Ford Stadium, which would seem to indicate that he cares about sports

What will determine if he's a great choice is whether he will be a great fundraiser as the chairman of the BOT. I hope he will he but the prof will be in the pudding.
