The main roof structure over the pool just came down. Sorry to see it go but will be a nice new structure soon enough.

Yeah, I saw that, too. Are they simply building a new one? Or are they using it for something else?

Alumni Center.
By the way, I was talking informally with a woman who is very involved in UP politics. She's involved in the creation of a new natatorium for the city. I asked her why SMU didn't join with UP and build a facility we could both use? Put it right where the existing Chase building is. Condemn the Chase buidling if necessary.

I think the alumni center was supposed to go where either Sigma Chi is, or another fraternity.
If they are tearing down perkins... where are the plans for a new facility? I have not seen / heard anything!

Was the Alumni Center the final decision? It was one of four uses up for consideration as of late May (others: Cox classrooms, Meadows classrooms, new student center)

Oh, I don't know. I didn't realize there were other choices. I heard alumni center about six months ago.

I see my video posting didn't work. Ugh. As I was leaving campus this afternoon the entire roof was gone. Essentially all that was left was the facade and some ruble.

Hphs is in talks with UP to partner with and enhance the existing outdoor facility on Lovers so the high school can add classrooms.

I did my normal run through campus early Monday morning and all that remained were the front arches. It looked like Roman ruins.
