Comes out with its 2015 rankings next Wednesday. Care to predict where we will wind up? I say we move up but not enough to crack the top 50. I predict #52.....

I think so, too based on the alumni giving percentage, % acceptance rate, and sat score....

The goal for the university moving into the next decade is to be in the low 40's. A lot needs to happen to get there but it is certainly within our grasp.

I agree with 52. probably in a 4 way tie.
I also predict UT may be in that 4 way tie with us, which will make their heads explode.

Just depends on what those around SMU do. Tech (by example) has gone from a pocket change endowment to over a billion in a short period of time. With strong leadership, a school can move quickly.

Yes, they had a capital campaign around the same time as ours, but where ours focused on campus improvements and new schools, Tech's focused on endowment funding. Helped them that it coincided with high oil prices.

http://www.usnews.com/education/blogs/college-rankings-blog/2014/08/19/2015-edition-of-best-colleges-rankings-coming-soonThe 2015 edition of the U.S. News Best Colleges rankings will go live on usnews.com on Tuesday, Sept. 9. A huge achievement will be tying, or being ranked ahead of, UT-Austin.
I guess 54. Others in the mid-50s, like Fordham, Syracuse and GW, probably don't have SMU's momentum.

Somewhere around 60. We don't seem to move far in either direction. Nobody at the various guides seems to really review academic changes around campus, and they typically rely on reputation amongst other schools which doesn't seem to be improving much if at all.
