No alarm for most on this board. How sad. All the CA and B school
alums do not understand how critical it is SMU maintains R1. Engineering
and the hard sciences ( Dedman ) rely on federal money to function.
AAU status is becoming more of a pipedream every day under this extremist
presidential administration.

I hesitated to start what would inevitably become a political discussion but my 1st thought when I saw this thread was that SMU was not going to be alone as the process of "dumbing down" America gets underway

Every American is in debt over $106,000 per person. You can't spend money when you are already in debt.
Raise Taxes and cut spending.
B-School easy stuff.

Now ranked #91 by US News&WR. My prediction: in the next 25 years SMU will sell is facilities to UT Dallas and cease to exist.
