Pluckers (evidently) is a big supporter of Mustang Athletics, which is great... but the food is absolutely horrible.

I don't really have any reason how this would have to do with SMU or SMU football...other than the fact that I myself am in Vegas at the moment...and to give ya'll an idea of what drives my wife crazy, we were walking down the strip and I pointed out Fatburger....she wondered why...and I responded well, it just made me think about the Burger Wars thread on PonyFans.com.

One to avoid: Duffy's Sports Grille in Valley Ranch (at the intersection of MacArthur and Valley Ranch). The Duffy's burger can be created at home: cut a circular piece out of a cinder block, and add your favorite condiments and fries. Absolutely awful.
Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!

Happened upon a place this week that definitely needs to be added to the list. I think it's been suggested before, but the Burger Crew never made the trek:

Angry Dog. A friend came into town, and told me it was his favorite burger when he lived here, and he needed to satisfy a three-year craving. I told him I didn't know where it was or what it was like, but when he said he was buying, off we went. Fantastic burger. Good atmosphere, service, etc., too, but of course the burger is what matters. Without the official forms to fill out, I didn't do a really scientific analysis, but I'd have to say it would be in (or at least very close to being in) the top 5. Tremendous effort by the folks at Angry Dog.

With a name like 'Angry Dog', I was expecting a hot dog stand! Where is this establishment, whatasteve?

Deep Ellum. Ir really is quite good. If you go at noon during the week, expect to wait.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Fat Daddy's (Garland Rd. and Buckner - just east of White Rock).
I drove by yesterday, saw a banner that said "Best Burger in Dallas" and thought of you boys. I have to say, I was pretty impressed.
We tried Fat Daddy's for lunch today. Not bad. I had the 1/2 lb. burger with mayo, Swiss cheese, tomatoes and pickles. If you're in the area, give it a try. But I don't think it's worth a cross-town drive.

Swiss cheese on a burger??? No wonder you weren't all that impressed. Swiss on ham...yes, on a burger...I don't think so. A truely good burger is BEEF, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickels (optional), mayo and mustard!!! If you just have to have a cheese burger, throw on some American cheese. 8)

Unfortunately, I can't eat onions or lettuce. American cheese tastes like paper to me. C'mon...what's wrong with cheese?

By the way, Fat Daddy's does have a ONE POUND BURGER.

MM65: don't take PK's idle burger ramblings too seriously. I've known the man for years, and he just doesn't learn. Pickles are not optional -- they are prohibited. They're like putting jalapeños on a peanut butter sandwich, the way they overwhelm and otherwise ruin a perfectly tasty meal. Remember, this is a man who goes to Campisi's and order's a burger patty. Not even a whole burger (with bun, etc.), and in a place where there's no reason to eat anything other than the pizza, which is fantastic. Ignore his American cheese rant. Swiss is just fine, as is cheddar .... as is a combination of the two.

Hmmm .... a one-pound burger? I smell a challenge coming on. How much is it?

Cheese?...how about mucho calories? Besides cheese distracts from the taste of the BEEF.

When you eat a burger, you're not supposed to think about calories, Mrs. PK. :D And as long as it's not flavorless cardboard (American cheese), it ADDS to the taste.
