Great game Ponies!I just wanted to say that the better team won tonight. For that first half LSU looked like the team Tiger fans expected to see all year, but SMU really played lights out. Hitting 64% of your three's and outrebounding us in the second half were key to the Mustangs win tonight.
Hope y'all go on to win the NIT. I think this LSU team has a bright future but may be a year behind SMU when it comes to production. Great game and it's been a pleasure to talk basketball to all of you the past week.
Re: Great game Ponies!Total class act Geaux. We are hard to beat at home. Appreciate the kind words. Maybe we'll see each other again in the BIG dance next year.
Re: Great game Ponies!I think we were a little scared of y'all's athleticism. Thankful we turned it on in the 2nd half. Bright future for LSU and Johnny Jones.
Re: Great game Ponies!Geaux, you guys are even more athletic than I realized, your bigs have good skill, plus a some outside shooters. I fully expect that team to make a strong run at the tournament next year based on how they looked tonight.

Re: Great game Ponies!LSU fans were great! I sat close to them.
Re: Great game Ponies!
Yea, I am surprised yall were able to somewhat contain O'Bryant without double teaming. This is only the second game all year that a team didn't immediately double team JOB. In the first he went for 29 against Kentucky. We probably didn't go down low enough to him, but overall Im happy with the way LSU played. Its tough bcause there arent a ton of LSU hoops fans and it's all Ill hear about for the next month... Still, if we had to lose to anyone Im glad it was y'all. By far the best team in the NIT>
Re: Great game Ponies!House divided but always SMU first. Looking forward to both schools seasons next year. But soooo glad SMU advanced.

+2 Just home from the game, and the tigers fan were great. LSU looked so much more athletic in the first half, you guys could bury it from the outside and were a force inside. I was really worried, somehow SMU put it together and probably played their best half of basketball to close it out. Enjoyed playing the Tigers. Good luck next year, and I am sure next time we meet, it will be in the Big Dance. /cheers Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

Agreed. Both LSU and SMU should have good seasons next year. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: Great game Ponies!GT, please come back for a visit next season. Enjoyed your insights.
Re: Great game Ponies!SMU fans, including myself, have a habit of looking down on other teams fans, particularly the big state schools. I think one reason is that we are usually outnumbered. So, in the spirit of being magnanimous in the wake of a nice home win over LSU, I will admit that I have been with visiting Ole Miss fans at Tiger Stadium twice in the last several years and couldnt have had a better experience. The LSU fans are great tailgaters and I find them the friendliest most hospitable people around. There is a lot of booze being passed around in Baton Rouge on football game day so there are a few troublemakers, but overall they are welcoming, genial, and fantastic cooks!
