A few random thoughts on the Cal game

Postby ponyboy » Fri Mar 28, 2014 12:23 pm

I've got the day off, so I rewatched as I was cleaning out winter stuff from the closet. A few thoughts:

1) Cal played a helluva game. If I had to guess just based on seeing them in that game for the first time, I'd think they were a top 15 program. Maybe top 10. Unbelievable poise in those circumstances and some lights out shooters.

2) Sterling Brown is a quiet force. I understand now why LB starts him. Very impressed by his poise.

3) Keith is on the verge of finishing up phase one of the Larry Brown tear down and build back. He's got a real chance, if he continues the hard work, of really coming into his own and being the player we expected when he signed.

4) Moody is just nuts. Just nuts. So thankful we have such magic going on on our home court. Wow.

What gets me is how muted the ESPN audio is with regards to the Moody crowd. It does not do it justice. It sounds like 300 people chanting and screaming. We obviously know better.

That's why the random Youtube vids are so awesome. You really get a much better sense for how the place just throbs. I will definitely fly in for a home game next year.

If they don't silence the crowd, you wouldn't be able to hear Fran and John's commentary on the broadcast.

Couldn't agree more with everything you said. Cal could not have played better even if it were
on their home floor. Sterling and Keith will be stars for us. Moody is magic as they say.

I still can't believe the pure chaos going on in that building. I've truly never been to any sporting event louder than that
