[quote="Hoop Fan"]If Utah can play an athletic, inexperienced qb, why cant we play one that does have a little experience? I still want to see Phillips at least get some time this season.[/quote

The most favorite player on any team is a backup QB.
I have to ask, H'Fan, what does Romo have to do?
He beats the arch-rival & you're still bit$hin???

Despite playing on a Friday night (with HS football games to compete with) UH and UTEP played before a pretty big crowd in El Paso. Long and great game. I'll bet Juarez was jumping all night.

UTEP's football program outdraws several BCS programs. Part of why TCU thinks the MWC has an inside track on BCS inclusion has to do with the "top to bottom" success of that conference. BYU and Utah are drawing good crowds and CSU and AFA aren't far behind. Quite frankly, UTEP and Memphis do as well as BYU and Utah and So Miss, ECU & Marshall are right in there with anyone in the MWC attendance wise. The key for all of us is to start winning more games against BCS schools. TCU's win over OU was a big one for the MWC. Marshall, Memphis and So Miss have all had close losses to BCS schools, and of course we had a golden opportunity against Baylor (of course beating the Bears counts about as much as ECU's win againt Duke) Until SMU starts beating TTech and A$M (like we used to handle Arkansas), none of us have any business talking BCS

LH,
We've had three ten win seasons in the past 5 years, and been knocking on the BCS door two of them. Sure we had a 5-6 year thrown in there, sh*t happens. Actually sh*t happened, and we still beat you 44-0.
As for Laramie in November, it's actually going to be Laramie in early October, and will stay that way for quite some time. San Diego and Las Vegas in November will be just fine, and I'll even wait till Monday to read about it....
I don't think any Frogs actually consider you as "lowly SMU", but we saw the writing on the wall in CUSA and moved to the best alternative. Top to bottom, the MWC is more enticing, at least in football. If you can't see that, then you need to take off your red & blue glasses.
Charleston is right, we all need to work together to dismantle this thing, and you guys could go a longgggg way with a win tonight.
Congrats on the win last week, fortunately we've put it behind us, but you all should enjoy it. It's been a fun 6 years for us, I can assure you. And have that skillet polished up when you return it '07.
